I made my first book…

I made my first book last night as a little surprise prezzy for me ma, for helping out in doing the party. It came out wicked, I printed a couple photos off and stuck them in. She was real happy.

pyrography… entering into the world of crafts…

I’ve been looking at new ways for me to be creative, and after seeing an offer at my local Lidls for a cheap wood burner I figured this would be a good one to start with.

After looking around on the web, I found that its not just eagles and dogs portraits that they use in pyrography, but there is some amazing very creative and stylish work out there. So using capoeira, as always, for my first point of inspirtion I have started to create a series of key rings, or what will be keyrings. So far I have only used the burning as the medium, but I will shortly be experimenting with colour too.

Ag’ya Danmye Ladja – I want to know more

At the head of the circle musicians control the tempo of the contest singing, playing drums and other instrument of African origin. Could this far-away Caribbean lookalike be a long-lost capoeira cousin? Does this offer us clues as to Capoeira’s African origins? The similarity is nothing but striking!
